Bergamo

Bergamo is a historic city with many interesting landmarks to visit. Some highlights include the Città Alta, a medieval hilltop town with stunning views; the Colleoni Chapel, a beautiful Renaissance-style building; and the Accademia Carrara, a prestigious art museum with works by masters such as Raphael and Botticelli.

Bergamo has its own airport, the Orio al Serio International Airport, with connections to several major cities in Europe. Alternatively, you can take a train from Milan or other nearby cities. Bergamo is well-connected by train to other parts of Italy and Europe.

Bergamo is known for its delicious local cuisine, which includes specialties such as polenta e osei (a dish made with polenta and roasted birds), casoncelli (a type of stuffed pasta), and sciatt (deep-fried cheese balls). There are also many excellent restaurants and bakeries where you can try these dishes and other local specialties.

The best time to visit Bergamo is in the spring or fall, when the weather is mild and the crowds are smaller. The summer months can be very hot and crowded, while the winter months can be chilly and rainy. However, Bergamo is beautiful year-round and there is always something to see and do.
