Aomori

The best time to visit Aomori is during the spring (April-May) and autumn (September-October) seasons. Spring offers beautiful cherry blossoms, while autumn brings vibrant foliage. Summer (July-August) is ideal for the Nebuta Matsuri, but it can be hot and humid. Winter (December-February) is perfect for skiing and snowboarding, but some areas may be inaccessible due to heavy snowfall.

Must-see attractions include the Nebuta Museum, showcasing the floats of the Nebuta Matsuri; the scenic beauty of Lake Towada and Oirase Stream; the Hakkoda Ropeway for panoramic mountain views; and the Sannai-Maruyama Site, an ancient Jomon period archaeological site. Aomori is famous for its apples, so be sure to try apple-related products like apple pie and juice. Other local specialties include seafood like scallops and squid, miso-based ramen, and the local rice wine, sake. Also, try the garlic dishes, as Aomori is a major garlic producer.
