The best time to visit Sydney is during the shoulder seasons, spring (September-November) and autumn (March-May), when the weather is pleasant and the crowds are smaller. Summer (December-February) is hot and busy, while winter (June-August) is mild but can be rainy.

Sydney has an excellent public transportation system, including trains, buses, and ferries. The Opal card is a convenient way to pay for travel. Walking is also a great option for exploring the city center and many of the neighborhoods.
