Sukhumi

Sukhumi is the capital city of the breakaway republic of Abkhazia, located on the Black Sea coast.

Visiting Sukhumi can be considered safe, but it is advisable to exercise caution and be aware of your surroundings, especially in areas close to the border with Georgia.

Abkhazia, including Sukhumi, is internationally recognized as a part of Georgia, and is not recognized as an independent country by most countries. Therefore, obtaining a visa for Abkhazia is difficult, and it is not advisable to enter Abkhazia via Georgia.

Some popular attractions in Sukhumi include the beach promenade, the botanical gardens, Sukhum Fortress, and the Abkhazian State Museum.

Sukhumi has a humid subtropical climate, with hot and humid summers and mild winters. The city receives a significant amount of rainfall throughout the year, particularly in the fall and winter months.
