Dunhuang

The Mogao Caves are the primary attraction, offering a glimpse into the artistic and religious heritage of the Silk Road. Other notable sites include the Singing Sand Dunes (Mingsha Shan) and Crescent Lake (Yuèyá Quán), a stunning desert oasis, and the Yumen Pass, a historic mountain pass.

The best time to visit Dunhuang is during the spring (April-May) and autumn (September-October) when the weather is mild and pleasant. Summers can be extremely hot, and winters are cold, making travel less comfortable.

Dunhuang has an airport (DNH) with flights from major Chinese cities. It is also accessible by train, with the Dunhuang Railway Station connecting to various cities. Buses and taxis are available for local transportation.
