Zakynthos

The best time to visit Zakynthos is during the shoulder seasons, from May to June and September to October. The weather is pleasant, the crowds are smaller than in peak summer, and prices are generally lower. July and August are the hottest months, ideal for sunbathing and swimming, but the island can be very crowded.

Must-see attractions include Navagio Beach (Shipwreck Beach), the Blue Caves, Marathonisi Island (Turtle Island), Zakynthos Town, Keri Caves, and the Askos Stone Park. Consider also visiting the traditional villages of Anafonitria and Volimes to experience local culture.

You can get around Zakynthos by renting a car, which offers the most flexibility to explore the island at your own pace. Public buses are available, but they may not reach all areas. Taxis are also available, and boat trips are a popular way to visit the coastal attractions.
