The best time to visit Sapporo depends on your interests. For winter sports and the Sapporo Snow Festival, February is ideal. For pleasant weather and outdoor activities, the late spring (May-June) and early autumn (September-October) are recommended. Summer (July-August) is warm but can be humid, while winter (December-January) is cold and snowy.

Sapporo is famous for its ramen, particularly miso ramen. Other must-try dishes include fresh seafood (especially crab and sea urchin), Genghis Khan (grilled lamb), and Sapporo beer. Don't forget to try the local sweets, such as the Ishiya Chocolate Factory's Shiroi Koibito cookies.

Sapporo has an excellent public transportation system, including a subway, buses, and trams. The subway is the most efficient way to get around the city center. Consider purchasing a Sapporo Subway One-Day Pass for unlimited travel. Taxis are also available, but they can be more expensive.
