Aguas Calientes

Aguas Calientes, which is also known as Machu Picchu Pueblo, is a small town located near the world-famous Inca citadel of Machu Picchu in Peru.

The only way to get to Aguas Calientes is by train or foot. There is no road access to the town. Most visitors take the train from Cusco and then transfer to a bus that takes them to the entrance of Machu Picchu.

The best time to visit Aguas Calientes is from May to September, which is the dry season. It's also the busiest time of year, so make sure to book your accommodations and train tickets in advance.

The main attraction in Aguas Calientes is Machu Picchu. However, the town also has some other interesting sights, including the thermal baths, the Manuel Chávez Ballón Site Museum, and the Putukusi mountain hike.

There are plenty of restaurants in Aguas Calientes offering a variety of cuisines, including Peruvian and international. Some of the local specialties to try include ceviche, alpaca meat dishes, and quinoa.
