About Tanzania
Tanzania is the largest country in East Africa. It is bordered by Kenya and Uganda to the north; Rwanda, Burundi and the Democratic Republic of the Congo to the west; and Zambia, Malawi and Mozambique to the south.Modern Tanzania combines two areas that at other times have been governed separately: Tanganyika on the coast of the African mainland and the island of Zanzibar nearby.
