Welwyn Garden City

Welwyn Garden City was founded in 1920 by Sir Ebenezer Howard, as the second garden city in England. It was designed to provide a better quality of life for residents, combining the benefits of urban living with the advantages of a rural environment. The town's design emphasized green spaces, community, and self-sufficiency.

Key attractions include Stanborough Park, the Howard Centre shopping complex, the Campus West entertainment venue (including a theatre and cinema), and the Shredded Wheat Factory (now a residential development, but historically significant). The town's numerous parks and green spaces are also a major draw.

Welwyn Garden City is easily accessible by train from London King's Cross, with frequent services. It is also well-connected by road, being close to the A1(M) motorway. London Luton Airport is also within easy reach.
