The best time to visit Viñales is during the dry season, from November to April. The weather is generally sunny and pleasant, ideal for outdoor activities like hiking and horseback riding. However, this is also the peak tourist season, so expect larger crowds and higher prices. The shoulder seasons (May-June and September-October) offer a good balance of pleasant weather and fewer crowds.

The most common way to get to Viñales is by bus or private taxi from Havana. The bus journey takes approximately 3-4 hours, and taxis are usually quicker. Renting a car is also an option, but driving in Cuba can be challenging. Once in Viñales, you can easily get around by foot, bicycle, or taxi.

Viñales offers a variety of activities. Popular choices include visiting tobacco farms, taking a guided tour of a cigar factory, horseback riding through the valley, hiking to viewpoints for panoramic views, cycling around the mogotes, exploring the Cueva del Indio (Indian Cave), and enjoying the local cuisine at the 'paladares' (private restaurants).
