Trondheim

Trondheim Airport Værnes is the main international gateway, located about 30 km east of the city center. Several airlines offer direct flights from major European cities. Daily train and bus connections are also available from Oslo, Bergen, and other parts of Norway.

Nidaros Cathedral is the most important attraction. Also, explore the historic Bakklandet district, the colorful wharves along the Nidelva river, and the interactive exhibits at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU).

Trondheim is known for its fresh seafood, especially Atlantic salmon and cod. Visit the historic fish market to sample local seafood. The city also has a thriving coffee culture with many excellent cafes and bakeries.
