The best time to visit Stockholm is during the summer months, from June to August, when the weather is warmest and the days are long. However, the shoulder seasons of May and September can also be pleasant, with fewer crowds and still enjoyable weather.

Some of the top attractions in Stockholm include Gamla Stan (the Old Town), the Vasa Museum, Skansen Open-Air Museum, Stockholm Palace, and the ABBA The Museum. Consider also visiting Djurgården island for its museums and green spaces.

Swedes are generally polite and value punctuality. It's customary to remove your shoes when entering someone's home. Fika, a coffee and pastry break, is an important part of Swedish culture. Tipping is not expected, but appreciated for good service. Also, be mindful of personal space.

Stockholm has an excellent public transportation system, including buses, trams, metro (tunnelbana), and ferries. The SL Access card is convenient for all modes of transport. Walking and cycling are also great ways to explore the city, especially during the warmer months.

Be sure to try Swedish meatballs (köttbullar) with lingonberry sauce, herring (sill) prepared in various ways, and cinnamon buns (kanelbullar). For a unique experience, try a traditional Swedish smörgåsbord. There are many excellent restaurants offering both traditional and modern cuisine.
