Key attractions include the Roman Villa with its well-preserved mosaics, the Pinacoteca Civica with its art collection, the Church of Santa Maria Maggiore with its frescoes by Pinturicchio, and the Porta Consolare, an ancient Roman gate. Don't miss the chance to wander through the streets and admire the flower-filled balconies, especially during the Infiorate festival.

The best time to visit Spello is during the spring (April-May) and fall (September-October) when the weather is pleasant, and the crowds are smaller. The Infiorate festival, usually held in June, is a particularly special time to visit, although it can be very busy. Summer months (June-August) are hot, but offer long daylight hours. Winter months are quieter, but some attractions may have limited hours.

Spello is known for its excellent cuisine. Be sure to try local specialties such as truffles (especially black truffles), olive oil, lentils, and the local wines, particularly the Sagrantino. You can find these ingredients in many of the local restaurants and shops. Also, try the local pasta dishes, such as strangozzi with truffle sauce.
