Shimoda offers a variety of outdoor activities, including swimming, sunbathing, and watersports at beaches like Shirahama Beach. Hiking along the scenic coastal trails provides stunning views of the Pacific Ocean. Boat tours are also available to explore the coastline.

The best time to visit Shimoda is during the spring (March-May) and autumn (September-November) when the weather is mild and pleasant. Summer (June-August) is also popular for beach activities, but it can be hot and humid. Winter (December-February) is cooler, but still offers beautiful scenery.
