The best time to visit San Gil is during the dry season, from December to March and July to August. The weather is generally sunny and ideal for outdoor activities. However, the shoulder seasons (April-June and September-November) also offer pleasant weather with fewer crowds.

The easiest way to reach San Gil is by bus from major cities like Bogotá, Bucaramanga, and Medellín. The bus journey is comfortable and scenic. Alternatively, you can fly into Bucaramanga's Palonegro International Airport (BGA) and take a bus or taxi to San Gil, which is approximately a 3-hour drive.
