The best time to visit is during the spring (September to November) and autumn (March to May) months, when the weather is pleasant and the crowds are smaller. Summer (December to February) can be hot, and winter (June to August) can be cold and rainy, but also offers opportunities for skiing in the nearby Andes.

Must-see attractions include the Costanera Center, one of the tallest buildings in South America, the Parque Metropolitano, the Japanese Garden, and the many art galleries and boutiques along Avenida Pedro de Valdivia and Avenida Providencia. Providencia and Santiago have an excellent public transportation system, including the metro and buses, making it easy and affordable to get around. Walking is also a great way to explore the neighborhood. Taxis and ride-sharing services are readily available as well.
