Port Alberni

Port Alberni offers a wide range of outdoor activities, including hiking in the surrounding forests, fishing in the Alberni Inlet and nearby lakes, kayaking and paddleboarding, and wildlife viewing. Popular trails include the Stamp River Provincial Park trails and the trails around Sproat Lake.

The Maritime Discovery Centre provides insight into the region's maritime history, while the Alberni Valley Museum showcases the area's logging and industrial past. The McLean Mill National Historic Site offers a glimpse into the logging industry with its fully operational steam-powered sawmill.

Port Alberni is accessible by car, bus, and floatplane. Driving is the most common way to get there, with routes from Nanaimo and Victoria. Regular bus services are available, and floatplane services offer scenic flights from Vancouver and other locations.
