Popayán

Popayán is famous for its well-preserved colonial architecture, its designation as a UNESCO World Heritage site, and its significant Semana Santa (Holy Week) celebrations, which are among the most important religious festivals in Latin America.

Must-see attractions include the historic center with its white-washed buildings, the churches (such as Iglesia de San Francisco and Iglesia de Santo Domingo), the museums (like Museo Arquidiocesano de Arte Religioso), and the Caldas Park, the city's main square.
