Monte Alban

The main attractions include the Grand Plaza, the Ball Game court, various temples, palaces, and the numerous tombs. The site also features intricate carvings and sculptures that provide insights into the Zapotec civilization.

Monte Alban is easily accessible from Oaxaca City. You can take a taxi, join a guided tour, or use public transportation (a bus). The journey takes approximately 20-30 minutes.

The best time to visit is during the dry season, from November to April, when the weather is pleasant. However, the site is open year-round, and early morning or late afternoon visits can offer a more comfortable experience, avoiding the midday heat.
