Kusatsu

Besides soaking in the various onsen, visiting the Yubatake is a must. Explore the town center, try local delicacies, and consider a hike in the surrounding mountains. Attending a Yumomi performance, a traditional method of cooling the hot spring water, is also highly recommended.

Kusatsu is enjoyable year-round. Winter offers a snowy landscape and the chance to enjoy onsen in the cold, while summer provides pleasant hiking weather. Spring and autumn offer beautiful scenery with cherry blossoms and colorful foliage, respectively.

The easiest way to reach Kusatsu is by bus from major cities like Tokyo. The journey takes approximately 3-4 hours. Alternatively, you can take the train to a nearby station and then a bus to Kusatsu.
