The Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park and Museum are essential for understanding the city's history. Hiroshima-style okonomiyaki is a savory pancake with layers of ingredients, including noodles, cabbage, meat or seafood, and a fried egg. Unlike the Osaka style, the ingredients are layered rather than mixed. You can find it at numerous restaurants and okonomiyaki-specific establishments throughout the city, especially in the Okonomimura (Okonomiyaki Village).

To reach Miyajima Island, take a train to Miyajimaguchi Station, then a short ferry ride. The main attraction is the Itsukushima Shrine and its iconic torii gate. The island also offers hiking trails, the Daisho-in Temple, and opportunities to interact with friendly wild deer.
