The best time to visit Gaeta is during the spring (April-May) and fall (September-October) for pleasant weather and fewer crowds. Summer (June-August) is also popular for beach activities, but it can be very crowded and hot.

Gaeta is accessible by car, train (to Formia-Gaeta station, then a bus), and bus. The nearest airports are in Naples and Rome. From Naples, it's about a 1.5-hour drive, and from Rome, it's about a 2-hour drive.
