Dress respectfully when visiting religious sites. Tipping is customary but not mandatory; 10% is generally appreciated for good service. Learn a few basic Croatian phrases – it's always appreciated. Be mindful of noise levels, especially in residential areas.

The Old Town is best explored on foot. Local buses are available for getting around the wider area. Taxis and ride-sharing services are also available, but can be more expensive. Consider ferries to nearby islands.

Dubrovnik offers a variety of dining options, from traditional Croatian cuisine to international fare. Seafood is a highlight, with fresh catches readily available. Try local specialties like black risotto, peka (slow-cooked meat), and fresh oysters. Be sure to explore the restaurants within the Old Town and along the harbor.
