Copacabana

The best time to visit Copacabana is during the dry season, from May to October. The weather is generally clear and sunny, making it ideal for exploring the lake and surrounding areas. However, the shoulder seasons (April and November) can also be pleasant, with fewer crowds and still favorable weather conditions.

The most common way to reach Copacabana is by bus from La Paz, the capital of Bolivia. The journey takes approximately 3-4 hours and offers scenic views of the Altiplano. You can also take a bus from other major cities in Bolivia. Alternatively, you can hire a private car or take a taxi, although this is more expensive.

The Basilica of Our Lady of Copacabana is a must-see, as is a visit to Cerro Calvario for panoramic views. A boat trip to Isla del Sol is highly recommended, as is exploring the local markets and enjoying the lakeside atmosphere. Consider visiting the Horca del Inca, an ancient astronomical observatory.
