The Basílica de Nuestra Señora de los Ángeles is a must-see, as is the ruins of the Santiago Apóstol Parish. Also, consider visiting the Lankester Botanical Garden and exploring the Irazú Volcano National Park for stunning natural scenery.

The dry season, from December to April, is generally the best time to visit Cartago, offering pleasant weather for outdoor activities. However, the shoulder seasons (May-June and September-November) can also be enjoyable with fewer crowds.

Cartago is a walkable city, especially the central area. Taxis and local buses are readily available for getting around the city and to nearby attractions. Renting a car is also an option for exploring the surrounding areas at your own pace.
