Saunton Sands is the most popular beach, renowned for its vast expanse of golden sand and excellent surfing conditions. Croyde Bay is another fantastic option, known for its powerful waves and picturesque setting. Putsborough Sands offers a more sheltered experience, ideal for families. All are easily accessible from Braunton.

Braunton offers a wide range of activities. Surfing and watersports are hugely popular, with surf schools catering to all levels. Hiking and cycling are excellent, with trails through Braunton Burrows and the surrounding countryside. The best time to visit Braunton is during the spring and summer months (May to September) when the weather is warmest and the days are longest. This is ideal for beach activities and outdoor adventures. However, the shoulder seasons (April and October) can also be pleasant, with fewer crowds and still good weather for exploring.
