Blarney

The Blarney Stone is a block of limestone built into the battlements of Blarney Castle. Legend has it that kissing the stone grants the kisser the gift of eloquent speech or, as it's more commonly known, the 'gift of the gab'.

Visitors must climb to the top of Blarney Castle and lean backward over the edge while holding onto iron railings. A castle employee assists in guiding you to kiss the stone. It's a safe process, but not recommended for those with a fear of heights or mobility issues.

Besides kissing the Blarney Stone, you can explore the castle grounds, including the Poison Garden and the Rock Close. Visit the Blarney Woollen Mills for shopping, and enjoy the scenic walks around the area. There are also several pubs and restaurants where you can experience traditional Irish food and music.
