Axum

The easiest way to get to Axum is by air. Ethiopian Airlines operates regular flights to Axum Airport (AXU) from Addis Ababa and other major cities in Ethiopia. Alternatively, it is possible to reach Axum by road, although the journey can be long and the roads may be challenging, especially during the rainy season.

The best time to visit Axum is during the dry season, which runs from October to May. The weather is generally sunny and pleasant during these months, making it ideal for exploring the outdoor historical sites. The rainy season, from June to September, can make travel more difficult.
